Bad Credit Personal Loans in Canada 2013

Our latest applicant is looking for a lender that will provide him with a bad credit personal loan in Canada in 2013. He is actually in a good financial situation, with a small mortgage and no other debts other than the $15,000 he owes on three credit cards. His main mistake and this is why he ended up with a bad credit rating, is that he has multiple credit cards which are all at their maximums.  He has a stable income and he understands the importance of getting a personal loan to lower the interest rate and how much money this will save him.

It is surprising to learn that there are many Canadians who fall into this credit situation all of the time. They are offered several credit cards, they use those cards and the banks automatically increase the limits and before they realize what they have done, the card balances are at their maximum and they are paying 18% or more on the unpaid balances.

A personal loan is the best way to approach this problem. Interest rates are much lower on personal loans and the savings can be dramatic. Clients can apply for bad credit loans, or they can also apply for consolidation mortgages which could save them even more money. Most mortgage interest rates are even lower than personal loan rates so the savings can be even larger.

This customer, although he has a bad credit rating does have several options regarding how to proceed. He will end up saving money compared to the high interest that he is paying with his credit cards. The client mentioned that he was going to stop using his cards and lock them up. We applaud this approach, however we suggest that he continue to carry one with him for emergency expenses only. Car repairs while on the road for example can be expensive and sometimes it is a good thing to have a credit card along for these unforeseen expenses.

Extra information here please (some detail):: I am looking for a lender that will make me a bad credit personal loan. I live in Canada and although it is part way through 2013, I still have not recovered from the Christmas period. Basically I spent way too much on gifts and parties during Christmas and I have not been able to repay my credit card balances.  I have three cards and they are all at their maximum approval levels of $5000 each. This is why i need a personal loan for $15,000. They are all charging me 19% interest on the unpaid balance and at these rates  I will never repay these cards. With a personal loan, at 6% which is high, I am saving 12% on the interest which is a huge amount and I will be able to repay the personal loan much faster with the money I am saving.

I plan to lock up these cards and not use them at all regardless of whether I am approved for a personal loan or not.

Note to Lender :: Because I have three credit cards that are all at the maximum, I understand that I now have a bad credit rating. Apparently if you have a lot of credit cards, your rating can begin to drop. The credit rating will drop even further if the balances are max’d out and then if you miss a payment, your credit rating goes from not so good to a bad credit rating. As a result I am having trouble finding a lender that is willing to lend me a personal loan so that  I can solve my financial problems.

I own my home and have a relatively small mortgage left on the house. I do not have any other debt other than the mortgage and these credit cards. My credit rating up until last fall, was really very good, but as soon as I slipped up and allowed the balances to grow and then not pay them off at the end of the month, my credit rating dropped. I have been at the same company for the past 20 years and plan to retire in the next 5 years.

Really everything should be no problem for us at all, and yet I have this bad credit rating and need to find a lender that will provide us with a bad credit personal loan. Can you assist us in this search for a personal loan?

I have found a great deal through a private seller he’s asking 15000 for a super duty diesel it has all the records it’s been upgraded with all the xtra a and it’s really a great deal and what I’m looking for. I’m having a hard time because all the companies I have tried so far are willing to help me but not to by that vehicle they only will finance me to buy through them and I won’t be able to get what I’m really looking for. I spend close to 1200 on flights to work each month so I would like to have a good. Truck so I can’t cut out flights and commute there for my 24 days in camp. I’m willing to pay high interest and big payments if it means ill get the truck I need and it will be the step I need in working my credit back up. I appreciate your time.

  24. Matthew applied for the following loan:

    Loan: 10000

    Speed: ASAP

    Credit: Poor Low 500's

    Location: Edmonton, AB, Canada

Income: 2000 - 2400 / Month (November to May) 2400 - 3500 / Month (May - November) I work longer hours and more days a week in the summer and all my overtime is paid out at 1.5 times my pay. During the winter overtime is not paid out at the 1.5 times, however I am guaranteed to be paid for 40 hours per week.

    Reason:

Pay down some debts, catch up on some bills, purchase new furniture and take a family vacation this summer

  25. Matthew applied for the following loan:

    Loan: 10000

    Speed: ASAP

    Credit: Low 500's

    Location: Edmonton, AB, Canada

Income: 2000 - 2400 NET, November to May 2400 - 3500 NET, May to November I am a full time employee of a directional drilling company in Edmonton. WE currently have contracts with both Shaw Communications ans Telus Communications to repair the house services to houses in the greater Edmonton area. We do work year round, however the winter months are slower and we do not work as many days or hours as we do in the summer. I am guaranteed to be paid for 40 hours a week from the months of November to May with all overtime hours worked (if any) paid as straight time. From the month of May to November we typically work 50-80 hours a week and all over time is paid out at the standard 1.5 times regular pay. My wife also has a small income from a part time job 3 nights a week as a local bar/lounge. The pay isn't much, approximately 200 a week.

    Reason:

Pay down some annoying debts. Catch up on some bills. Purchase some new furniture and take a small family vacation this summer.

My wife and I welcomed our second child in March of 2013. She was working full time as a Parking Enforcement officer up until she was required to go on medical leave in late October of 2012 due to complications with her pregnancy. Her maternatiy leave then kicked in for the full 50 weeks in March of 2012 when our son was born. I was at a different job at that point making quite a bit less an hour than I am making now. We fell behind on a few things and got caught up in payday loans.

As my wife is now done her maternity leave and has not returned to he former employment I am the sole income for the house. We do manage, but that is about it. We would like to pay off completely or pay down a large portion of these nasty debts that have accumulated, some of which I have been accumulating since our first son back in 2007.

We have also been in need of a few new pieces of more child friendly furniture. Our only sofa is full of holes and was previously owned by a heavy smoker. We are also looking at taking a family vacation this summer to visit Vancouver Island and some family who recently moved to Nanaimo. This is also to be kind of a honeymoon for my wife and I as we have not been able to do that since out marriage in 2011.

We are willing to purchase any kind of insurance required to receive a loan as we do not have much for collateral. We are financing a 2014 Ford Fusion. Our payments on that are 600/Month paid bi-weekly (300.00 every 2 weeks)

We are able to afford up to approximately 300/month payment to repay the loan. We are looking for a repayment period of around 5 years or longer.

We have been trying since our first son was born to get our finances in order. But having the payday loans and a other collections is has been hard. I was on a Debt Management plan several up until about 2010 when I had had to stop that as I was laid off when my employer was bought out and closed down. Since then it has been a loosing uphill battle and one that has placed a lot of stress on a once happy relationship with my wife.

  31. Randy applied for the following loan:

    Loan: 20,000

    Speed: Immediately

Credit: In between 550 and 600

    Location: Moose Jaw Saskatchewan canada

Income: I earn 30 dollars an hour as a 4th year sheet metal worker. I have one level to complete to become a journeyman and will then be earning around 34 dollars an hour. At my current pay rate, my gross monthly earnings are 4800 dollars a month. This however does not include either my overtime hours, nor my common law wife's 50,000 dollar a year earnings. I have been in the sheet metal trade for approximately ten years, while at my current job for around three years. My job is very secure and my trade in Saskatchewan is solid. So my trade skills will always be in demand. Once my loan request is granted the payments will be easily met.

    Reason:

The purpose of this loan request is to consolidate some outstanding debts, some ongoing credit and to obtain a down payment for a 99,000 dollar house which my common law wife has been approved to purchase for our family, though we need the down payment which I will gift to her. My outstanding debt totals around 2,000 dollars including an old telephone bill, an old water bill, a dental bill and a cable bill. I don’t believe any have yet gone to collections and am currently waiting on the final bills to arrive to make arrangements while waiting for this loan. My ongoing credit includes a five thousand easy financial loan, which I’ve never missed a payment over the last year and a bit though had re borrowed approx. five months ago to total 5,000 it also includes two credit cards totalling 1,900 dollars. That brings me to a total of 8,900. The last 11,100 is to acquire that home in which we are wanting to purchase. The home is very solid and would reduce our payment of 1,000 dollars in rent to approx. 800 dollars in a mortgage of which I’ll be obligated to pay half as I do towards our current rental accommodation. On paper I’ll be paying back this loan to you, however as a family unit you’ll be assured that my wife’s earnings will be indirectly used to assure that no payments would ever be missed. I thank you for your time and look forward to you aiding my family and I. This loan will definitely secure a better future for us and could quite possibly create a long term relationship between you and my family as our future goals are to open a bed and breakfast business for my wife and we would definitely need assistance with that in the distant future.

  32. Vanessa applied for the following loan:

    Loan: 12,000

    Speed: ASAP

    Credit: 473

    Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Income: I am self-employed and struggling to make a go of it with my business. Currently seeking consistent full-time employment. I make approximately $2000 per month and get paid via sales (50% profit) and commissions from the company. Sales upfront unless they pay with a credit card, then I wait 5-6 business day for the money in my account. Commissions on the 5th of every month, but those are never consistent.

    Reason:

I recently got married 3 wks ago. Have been seeking full-time employment all summer;need to make more than minimum wage; at least $15.00 per hour or more to pay my bills. I had completed a proposal last year and still have about $4000 in collections for my student loan. Made the mistake of applying for a $2000 loan with CAI Financial and now I owe $3,932.50 by Sept 27 or I lose my car , as I used it as an asset to get the loan. I honestly figured I would’ve been able to pay the loan within 90 days as I would’ve secured full-time employment. I am behind with World Health as I made the mistake of being In the Winter Fitness Challenge, which requires you get 36 Personal trainer sessions and I have been struggling to pay the $396/mth until November (I did thisfor my wedding and honestly figured I would’ve been further ahead in my business by now). Behind by over $1000 with the gym, and the total amount needed to pay with them is approx. $3000. I have two personal loans with friends for $1000 each (total of $2000) as I was trying to get myself caught up and unfortunately haven’t been able to secure full-time employment to pay it back. Right now, I need to get myself caught up with AMA as I am behind for August and my monthly payment is $285. I just need to get caught up so I can breathe again and I am willing to pay whatever interest you charge me at the point. I am working on improving my credit score and honestly if I couldonly be approved for a loan at the bank I would be okay right now. I have applied for several out of desperation. I just need some help and will be forever grateful. Please

  41. Sharon applied for the following loan:

    Loan: 15,000.00

    Speed: As soon as possible

Credit: Poor. This is due to our son taking ill and being

    Location: Owen Sound, Ontario Canada

    Income: Sharon - $4,500.00 Net. Husband - $9,000.00 Net

    Reason:

To purchase a used, privately owned, mint condition vehicle. In 2002, we purchased a Brand new Black 4 door, 4×4 Dodge RAM 1500 with 20″ tires and towing package. We kept it in super mint condition. This was my husbands baby. We had it detailed every 1-2 weeks. Oil changes done on time with the best oil and we used premium gasoline and undercoated every fall. Added all accessories, ie) side steps, duel exhaust, tunnel cover, tail light RAM covers and brake light cover, rain shields for windows, stainless gas cap, etc. Tragically, my husband and son were in a serious car accident on February 18th and the truck was a total write off. We were never going to sell our truck because it was in mint condition with low kilometers. It looked like it just came out of the showroom. We knew if we sold it, we wouldn’t get anything for it. So, our totalled Dodge RAM being a 2002, our Insurance company will give us hardly anything for it. We are presently driving a rental vehicle and will have to return it 2 days after a settlement is made which will be next week. We travel 3 hours to and from work each day and require a 4×4 truck to get through the heavy snow.

    Loan: $15,000

    Speed: June 2015

    Credit: Poor - Osap Loans

    Location: Toronto

    Income: $6500

    Reason:

    Purpose of loan:

Wedding Reception – Although we have paid for most of the wedding, there is $15,000 we need in order to continue with the wedding planner to complete the process. I have all debts paid off (as I currently stand with no outstanding debt) however because my credit was so poorly dented when I finished college years ago (never paid osap immediately at the time) it severely indented credit (as an adult you learn that will be your biggest mistake). Osap has been paid, however it will take a couple years for my report to begin the healing process in order for a bank to look at me for a large loan (right now they will not approve this). At the end of the day, we are looking to have our reception for May 2016, however there’s a few financial obstacles in the way (booking the catering, and venue are + wedding planner fees) are the final steps we need in order to move forward with our lives. I make a good financial living, however again in order to be approved for a loan, your income is not something they take into consideration.

    Thanks & Regards,

Income: gross monthly income of $11,416 approximately. Have been Self employed since 1989.

    Reason:

The purpose of this loan request is to lower the balances on my credit cards. I used my credit cards to put towards paying off a loan secured against my property. The loan was for $52,000, taken out October 2015 I went to pay the loans off in September this year only to find that the payout out amount had increased to $82,951. This increase the company said was due to penalty fees for paying out the loan early. I took out a loan with CitiFinancial and I paid the remainder from savings and credit cards. I had no choice as the company was charging me a per diem of $310 per day. Before this issue occurred I had a credit score of 726 Equifax, Trans Union 710. With taking my credit cards to their limit it dropped my score down to 640. I have very clean credit reports. All payments have always been made on time and never a day late on any payments. No accounts have ever been in collections and have never gone through bankruptcy. I am look for an unsecured loan . I would like to pay down my credit cards, save money on the interest I am paying and finally be out of this financial hole that the pervious loan caused. Thanks and Regards.
