$3000 Loan in Toronto – Private Lender With Collateral Offered

3000 loan toronto canada $3000 Loan in Toronto Private Lender With Collateral OfferedThis applicant from Toronto, Ontario wanted to borrow $3000 from a payday lender in the area. She wanted to find a private lender for the loan. And not a payday loan lender.

She had collateral in the the form of electronic equipment, as per her application, and we will get into “that one” here.

She wanted the money by the following Tuesday morning, and she needed the private loan to be hush-hush as much as possible, in other words she wanted no Teletrack records, and no faxing of records involved. She simply wanted a direct lender that wasn’t associated with a bank.

There is a name for such a lender isn’t there – loan shark ring a bell. Ringing one for me šŸ˜‰

She left her phone number on the application form, which is a big NO-NO here at BFC. You are not supposed to use your personal information on our pre-apps, and this is for the borrowers own good. The private information will be used after a lender has contacted you. She also mentioned that she was quite desperate, and needed the cash badly – we hear that one allot as well here, and sometimes the situations our users get themselves in is quite scary. Sometimes they owe money to some shady loan sharks, or they don’t have any power to their homes – etc. etc.

In this case though the applicant said she was in need of a loan for personal reasons, and we never heard more on the details of why she was short of cash. The new application form below has a field now where you HAVE to enter something about the purpose of the loan – this helps lenders understand what they are looking at, and it often tips the scales for the lenders if they know they are indeed helping someone who is in an emergency situation. And don’t worry about it – they’re still making a really solid profit in interest and/or fees. In this case the lender was charging $27 dollars for every $1000 borrowed (we only assume this from reading between all the lines) – a hefty fee for sure, and below we do the calculations of effective APR. Just so you can see what that comes to.

The repayment plan for this loan as offered by the borrower was two lump-sum payments of $1500 to be paid back once on the 15th of the month, and another at the end of the month. Not a weird deal at all, and this happens with many of the loans we see going through between the private lenders and their customers. As a matter of fact, we don’t always know what the deals in APR and fees are either – we would hope that these loans would be granted within the legal parameters set worth by the Province and the Federal government, but who is to say. We also ask that all borrowers notify us if they pay fees higher than $23 dollars for every $100 borrowed, as that is the legal limit in most Canadian provinces.

The Private Lender

The private lender lives in Pickering and he contacted the borrower from our database after the application. They struck up a deal over the phone, and met to exchange the money. They met in Toronto, and the $3000 dollars was given to the borrower in full. This private lender is actually just a married man who lives with his family in Pickering and makes a little bit of money on the side lending money out to people who have really bad credit ratings –Ā people who can’t get approved with normal, conventional banks.

His rates are not know to us for sure, but judging by the information we got from the applicant is was somewhere around $27/$100. We asked the lender if this is what it was, and he never quite found a way to answer that question. Sort of a “gentlemen’s deal” by the sounds of it. The borrower wouldn’t divulge the amount either, so we’ll never quite know for sure. For the sake of the calculation we will useĀ 27/100 though.

The private lender is one of over 2500 private lenders that use our database, and they are all screened before hand to cut down on loan sharking. This is not a Prosper.com kind of a thing. BFC does NOT get a cut of anything along the way when the money is borrowed or repaid. We just run the website with volunteers and we make a little bit of money when the odd payday loan application is approved and funded. The private lender has had an A++ rating from our borrowers in the past (and no….we don’t publish the ratings of borrowers and lenders – that is for our editors only to see). All parties involved want their privacy 100% maintained, and we aim to keep it that way). His track record is for granting the loan in cash, and wanting all repayments completed within 28 day of the loan initiation.

The Collateral Offered

The collateral in question was stereo equipment, home entertainment equipment, and musical equipment – the lender didn’t want anything to do with it. As he put it to us, “I’m not a fricken pawn shop.” Lenders don’t collect collateralĀ or ask for it in their loan agreements – they just want proof of identity, proof of employment income, and proof of credibility. Every private lender has different information required before granting a loan, but those three points of criteria are always in the mix.

The Outcome

This loan was madeĀ from a private lender from Pickering to a borrower in Toronto for the $3000 dollars requested. The money was repaid to the cent in two installment payments onĀ the borrower’s payday periods (15th and month’s end).

I’m working to pay my back rent however I just received the papers in todays mail saying that my landlord has arranged a hearing for my rental arrears. I’d like to have the rental arrears paid off before the hearing, which is scheduled for April 2nd, 2013.

  59. Fidel applied for the following loan:

    Loan: 6,000.00

    Speed: Within a week

Credit: I've spent the past 8 months building it.

    Location: Toronto, ON, CA

Income: I am a student at the University of Toronto and I also work fulltime as well as run a business part time. I recently took time of work to study for exams and will be starting a new job on May 6. I will be earning approximately $2,000.00 per month. My business brings in anywhere from $300.00 to $3000,00 per month.

    Reason:

I was the victim of a car accident where my vehicle was totalled and I was forced to purchase a new one. I also recently got into some trouble with payday loans trying to help out friends and family financially. A close family friend recently passed away and I had helped put together some money for the funeral. I am trying to get my own finances in order and am prepared to use my car as collateral if need be (worth about $5000.00).
Essentially, I would like to consolidate my debts as I have an American Express card that was maxed out for a while. I was able to pay it down but after my accident it was maxed out again. The car I purchased, though it was from a family friend, still has $2,800.00 owing on it. I was able to negotiate a partial payment so that I could travel to and from work, however it is imperative that I pay off the rest. Before purchasing my new car, I was driving a rental to facilitate my commute. While driving the rental, some one had scraped the car while it was parked. I still owe the rental company $300.00 for the damages. It has been a few months since I last made a payment towards my tuition, I would like to do that as well.
The past 3 months have not been the easiest for me. Centralizing my debts as well as the break from school this summer will not only allow me to focus on my business going forward, but also reduce my stress thereby helping me solve my problems.

I wanna make extra money doing this cause this is what I am good in, and I’d like to help my wife payoff her credit cards and line of credit then buy a house in 3 years after clearing my bankruptcy.

Faster than we expected, and we find ourselves in need of running capital to pay up bills, buy equipment, etc.

  68. Mike applied for the following loan:

    Loan: $3000

    Speed: car repairs

Credit: probably bad, would like to rebuild

    Location: Peterborough Ontario

Income: I'm a disabled person on ODSP, my monthly income for bills and expenses is just under $600 a month after my $400 rent is paid. My bills currently are $25 a month for my prepaid phone and $50 a month for my cable internet service. I feel that I can afford a small collateral loan with my 1990 BMW 535i used as collateral security. I am quite frugal and am not any sort of addict and therefore have no exceptional expenses. Rebuilding my credit is almost impossible living on such a small income or I would try a bank.

    Reason:

I bought the car with my ODSP back pay I received after fighting the their system for just over a year.
It needs some minor bodywork done for it to pass safety inspection and make it road worthy, to patch some minor rust-through on the rocker panels and a couple other spots, new paint would be nice and I would like to have it done by a reputable shop for quality work. (it is a BMW after all)
Mechanically it is in fantastic shape and the other mechanical work it needed was already done by me. Cars are like Lego to me mechanically, I can fix anything in my driveway except for things that need special tools, the clutch and windshield for instance, I had done for me.
I have no idea how to do bodywork so I need to have it done.

I need this car to be able to hopefully find a job that I can do and to run my errands.
