3000 Loan For Person With Bad Credit in Vancouver

Our next client is applying for a small loan of $3000. He is also dealing with a bad credit rating situation which he claims is from an unresolved dispute with his credit card company from a few years ago. He has not been able to get this resolved and as a result most lenders will not provide a low interest personal loan to them at interest rates that he feels is reasonable. Unfortunately this is what can happen when someone’s credit rating drops. Lenders are unwilling to take a risk with this kind of customer and will charge higher interest rates.

This customer really only has two options. The first is to take a high interest personal loan and pay it off as quickly as possible. A high interest loan will increase the cost of his renovations which is something he will need to consider. He is after all saving a great deal of money by doing these renovations himself. Bathrooms are often very expensive when it comes to the cost of renovating. $3000 is quite inexpensive for a bathroom renovation job.

The other alternative is to self fund the renovations, which means spreading the work out over a longer time period. Basically he needs to wait until he has the money saved to purchase the materials he needs and then proceed with that portion of the job. With proper planning, taking advantage of sales and no interest charges, he may even save more money on this job.

It is up to the customer to decide how he wants to proceed. With the exception of the credit card issue and the impact on his credit rating, this client is actually a good risk customer.

Extra information here please (some detail):: Hi, I am looking for a small $3000 loan for some home renovations that we are planning. This is a small job that we have in mind. Basically we want to upgrade our main bathroom, redecorate, change the toilet, the bathtub and enlarge the shower. We will also be changing the sinks and the countertop, but keeping the shelves and drawers.

I plan to do the majority of the work myself with some help from a buddy along with an electrician to do the electrical work. I can get all of the materials on sale and with the savings on labor; this job will only cost me around $3000. We have the design, we know what materials we need and we have the help lined up. We just need the money to pay for the material and the electrician!

Note to Lender :: I work for the city of Vancouver in the traffic control area. This is a solid job which I will have until I retire which is an enviable thing these days. We have a small mortgage on our home of $109,000. This is a small mortgage compared to many of our neighbors who have mortgages much higher than this. The real estate in Vancouver is just crazy!

The bad news is that my credit rating is in what most people would consider the bad category. My wife and I had a dispute with a credit card company a few years ago about a purchase that we did not make. They ruled against us and in the process registered a non-payment claim against us with the credit rating agencies. As a result we have a bad credit rating and are finding it very difficult to find anyone to loan us money at reasonable rates.

The interest rates that many lenders want to charge us are so high that it really makes no sense to borrow the money from them. The only alternative we have is to spread the cost of the home renovations out so that we can afford to pay for the material as we need it. Although the job would take a lot longer, it might be the best approach for us since we will not incur any interest costs at all, which in addition to the labor savings will make this home renovation project very inexpensive.

Please advise whether your company will be able to find a lender that can lend us this $3000 loan.

    Reason:

way behind in my bills including utility, vehicle payments, 794.00 x 2 = 1588.00 car, 500.00 truck, 1500.00 utility bills. my sons illness for the past 4 months if not longer has caused a great strain on my finances whereas i have let everything slide and now banking institutions are demanding payment and i am unable to pay. if this is paid i will be able to pay back loan amount 500.00 every two weeks until paid in full – i am in financial difficulty, for the past 4 months due to my sons illness, i have let most of my payments fall behind including my utility bills. my vehicle loan payments are behind and are threatening repossession, i do not want this to happen. with the 4000.00 i will be able to get back on track, catch up with my bills and then at the same time i can repay this loan at 500.00 every 2 weeks until paid in full. i make enough money to do this – i am overwhelmed in debt. the past few months i have allowed my bills to go unpaid due to the fact that i was dealing with my eldest son’s illness costing me most of money earned. today my car and truck bill are way behind and i am being threatened with repossession. i do not want this, i have spoken with a financila advisor in respect to bankruptcy or consoidation. she advise me to speak to the loan companies and see if you can get deferred payments. i did and they said no, i have to catch up with my payments immediately. with the 4000.00 it will catch me up and i will be able to make payment arrangements to you of 500.00 every two weeks on my paydays until paid in full. i am willing to pay whatever interest that you charge. i am in a dire situation. can you help?

  2. Chad applied for the following loan:

    Loan: $8200.00

    Speed: 2 days

    Credit: poor had a bankruptcy

    Location: Kelowna, B.C. Canada

Income: varies from $1800 - $2500 per month. contract work to another company; however I have not been getting paid what was agreed ($6000.00) per month. I am behind and the current work situation is unreliable.

    Reason:

I am behind on jeep payments and insurance.
I have been accepted into the UA local 488 plumbers & pipefitters union in Alberta. The starting pay is $23.19/hr So it will be no problem paying back any loan. I must travel to get to Edmonton for this job. I need to pay the arrears to keep my vehicle and to get to work as most of it is in remote locations of Albert. As well I require three months of insurance and a few other bill payments to get back on track. I did have a descent job and could afford my payments but was laid off and did not have enough hours for unemployment. I had hoped that the contract job was going to be fruitful but it isn’t panning out… i trusted the wrong person hence my being behind. I can now afford my payments but i need to clear up the arrears and i just dont have that kind of money. the longer it goes the more in the hole i become in that area. The union job is a career dream job for me. Also need to purchase some specific clothing and foot wear for safety. ie: winter steel toed work boots, hard hat etc.

  3. ELIZABETH applied for the following loan:

    Loan: 3000.00

    Speed: one week

    Credit: poor

    Location: Vancouver BC

    Income: Gross: $945.00 - $1080.00/week I make $27.00/hr for 35-40 hrs/week. I have worked here for 5 years.

    Reason:

My son and have lived in a co-op for 10 years, but are now forced to move. I was not prepared for this and have no savings. The rents here are extremely high priced and I have seen little that are suitable, that I can afford and will accept us with our dog. I was very lucky and have found a great place that I know we will be happy in. However, it will be vacant in 14 days and I need to put a full month’s deposit to secure it for us. There will also be moving expenses – cleaning and painting to do.
As well, my couch and loveseat have fallen apart. They are 17 years old and have gone thread bare and ripped in places. I was planning on trying to save up some money over the summer to buy something new but now I have no time and would love to move into our new place with decent furniture. Not to mention how embarrassing and depressing it would be to move something that should really be thrown away.
I know that I am extremely fortunate to have found such a fantastic place, that is affordable and has lovely people as landlords and don’t want to lose this opportunity at a new home.
My credit is poor due to school loans and due to times I struggled as a single mom. I was also rejected today online for a store credit card which said that my history showed that I had taken out a car loan a year or so ago. I did not. So I will phone Equifax tomorrow to report that I believe someone has applied for credit in my name.
So to sum up, I am requesting this loan to secure a home, help with moving expenses and buy some furniture for my son and I.

  4. Peter applied for the following loan:

    Loan: 3200.00

    Speed: Immediately

    Credit: bad

    Location: Peterborough,Ontario. Canada

Income: 300.00 Government payment 1,150 2nd Government payment 1,800 Working income

    Reason:

We moved into a home, that was close to the school my autistic son began attending. As per our move in agreement we were allowed to waive the last months rent until a later date. The Landlords have unfortunately begun the process of selling the home and have insisted that we pay a lump sum amount to cover the last months rent and or move for the following month. We are in a serious predicament that if we were to do that ourselves without the help from a loan than we would be perpetually behind in monthly regular rent. We cannot take from our reg. monies that we put aside this month for next months rent. We also cannot move easily either as our son has gotten settled in his surroundings and has this neighbourhood familiarized to begin school in September.A huge part of our son’s issues is very high anxiety over change. We would have no issues paying the loan back as we have more than enough to do so. Also my wife will be staring a job in mid September that would contribute to this as well. My credit is very poor mainly from a bad divorce years ago, I hope you can consider my request even still.
